Tabitha Whitley's Debut Solo Show Opens at The Untitled Space, Sorted Into What the Listing Confirms

A listing dated 15 October 2024 names Brooklyn-based artist Tabitha Whitley's first solo show at The Untitled Space, on view through October 19th. Here is what the record holds and what it leaves open.

The entry is dated 15 October 2024. The headline states that The Untitled Space has opened artist Tabitha Whitley's debut solo show, on view now through October 19th. The listing is short. One line of description came attached, naming Whitley as a Brooklyn-based artist.

Nothing else from the announcement is in hand. No exhibition title, no medium, no address, and no opening-night date are held here beyond the two facts above.

1. The venue: a name, not yet a description

"The Untitled Space" is named as the venue that opened the show. The listing does not describe the space itself — no borough, no gallery history, no prior program. It states only that this is where Whitley's debut solo show is on view.

That leaves the venue as a fact without context. Readers who want the gallery's own account of itself will need the original listing, since nothing further on that point sits in this record.

2. The artist: first name, first show

Tabitha Whitley is named as the artist, and the show is called her debut solo show — her first, going by that word. She is described as Brooklyn-based. Her medium, discipline, and any prior group-show history are not named in the material held here.

A "debut" carries weight precisely because it is a first. What came before it, in Whitley's case, is not part of this record.

3. The record

4. Not confirmed

• The exhibition's title
• Whitley's medium or discipline
• The Untitled Space's address or borough
• An opening reception date, if one was held
• Curatorial credit, if any
• Whether the run's closing date and the entry's publish year are the same year

The full announcement sits at the original listing, linked above, which is the fastest route to the parts not held here.
